Another interesting technique to get into the deeper layers of your consciousness, is writing with your left hand (when you're right handed, or with your right hand when you're left handed). I did this once in a workshop and the results were surprising. You'll write a lot slower of course and you may feel you're hardly able to get something readable on paper at all. But writing with your "wrong" takes you out of your routine in such a way that you write things you'd never have written otherwise.

Anyway, that's my experience; doesn't mean to say that this could replace the journal technique from your article; thanks for sharing that, and thanks for all the other great articles on this blog.

Wes:

If you feel like you need more time, go for it. Exorcise those demons. It's a minimum of 5 days, not a maximum. Just keep going until you feel no motivation to do it anymore.

I just completed the exercise, and I discovered quite a few inner demons relating to my views on women. But I feel like I need more than 5 days to get to everything. Should I go for it or just stop?

And what's missing is: what are YOU hoping to get out of this?

[[Me as a blog author? I hope to help guys get better with women, and part of that is processing their emotions in a healthy and adaptive way. This technique does that. Also, if you buy the Writing to Heal book through the link on this page, you will put some pennies in my Amazon Affiliate account, and help fund future purchases of cool books like this, so I can review and recommend them to guys (if they're any good of course). -30]]
